Pony Pursuit and Pony Rides
Get along to the Alice Springs Turf Club on Saturday, May 2 for one of the highlights of the Alice Springs racing calendar - the ASPC Pony Pursuit. The ponies and riders may be pint sized but they hold their own with the pro racers out on the track! This day is one of our major fundraisers, with the racers providing pony rides during the day. Thanks to the Alice Springs Turf Club for their support.
Congratulations Kate
Congratulations to ASPC member Kate Averay, the only Northern Territory rider to be selected for the 2009 InterPacific Exchange for 2009. We are very proud of Kate's latest achievement and wish her all the best in Hong Kong in July. Kate is also the first NT Pony Club member in quite a few years to be awarded the B certificate. And at the recent jump gradings, Kate and What the Halo reached PA level - the highest grading possible! Her achievements go to show that you don't have to go south to reach the top levels of the sport. Go Kate!
